If you know someone who doesn't have a DVD player, they are defiantly missing out and it would be a great gift to get them!
DVD's produce 100% crystal clear picture, all-around-you surround sound, and the ability to fast-forward or skip to any part of the film, instantly. DVD films are now about the same price as VHS videos and there is usually a much bigger selection of DVDs that VHS videos in video shops now-a-days anyway.
On the other hand, DVD recorders and now coming down in price a lot! With these, you can record programs from the television directly on to a DVD disc the same as you would with a VHS tape, although of course retaining perfect sound and picture quality too.
